My Little Darling

Marsha libertyShe is a little darling in her seventies styled baby doll dress with it’s balloon sleeves and platter collar. You will have fun putting your own touches on these outfits. Just to prove the point on how even the same pattern will look different depending on what fabric and trims are used, I made the Marsha pattern twice. Once in a red silk and once in a Liberty print. Both are just stunning and it is hard to decide which one is the best, or at least it was for me. I really could have made a few more I enjoyed putting the trims and fabrics together so much.

While I was working with Dianna Effner’s Little Darling doll, I also made her a coat in baby cord with braid trim. The pattern is named Little Miss. I was on a roll designing for Emily (Little Darling), she reminds me so much of Shirley Temple. Marsha RedOne of these days I would like to do some 1930’s style dresses for her. I did do another dress for Emily, which I do think is more 40’s or 50’s in styling, called Cherry Lane.

I wonder who your Little Darling is? What sort of clothes does she wear? I really love the fact that she is a child doll and doesn’t look mature. I’m not sure what I’ll make her next so if you have a suggestion please let me know.
